Announcing the crQlr Awards 2024

The crQlr Awards 2024, a global award for designing a circular economy, will open from September, 2024. Evaluated by a diverse panel of experts, the awards will honor a broad spectrum of projects that exemplify the future of the circular economy.

We eagerly anticipate another year of innovative projects proposing products, services, and designs for a circular economy, and we look forward to collaborating towards a sustainable future. We welcome everyone’s entries with great enthusiasm.

About the crQlr awards

Launched in 2021 and now in its fourth year, the crQlr Awards aim to promote ‘circular design’, which is essential for the realization of a circular economy. Launched as the Japan’s first awards in the field of ‘circular design’, the crQlr Awards is gathering projects from Japan and abroad, drawing on practical know-how from industry and creativity from a wide range of disciplines.

In 2023, the number of participating countries reached a record high, with 140 projects from 43 countries from all over the world. The 28 selected winning projects were awarded a ‘crQlr’ certification kit to publicize and promote their circular economy initiatives.

In addition, the ‘crQlr Summit 2024 TOKYO’ featured cross-talk sessions with the winners and jury members, and the ‘crQlr Awards Exhibition’ showcased the winning projects at FabCafes across Japan and abroad (Bangkok, Barcelona, Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nagoya). The program also included an exhibition tour and a limited-edition FabCafe menu inspired by the winning projects, bringing circular design closer to the public.
