NOMURA REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT Co.,Ltd.
The Nomura Real Estate Group has formulated the "Earth Pride - Connecting the Earth" sustainability policy based on the three themes of "Humanity," "Harmony with Nature," and "Creating the Future Together" as its vision for 2050, in order to further promote efforts to realize a sustainable society. We have also formulated a sustainability policy called "Earth Pride - Connecting the Earth. In addition, as five priority issues to be addressed by 2030, we have identified (1) diversity and inclusion (2) human rights to respect people's dignity and basic human rights and promote "co-creation" initiatives that transcend organizational and business categories, and (3) decarbonization (4) biodiversity (5) sustainability to help solve climate change issues, which are common themes worldwide. (4) Biodiversity (5) Circular Design to contribute to solving climate change issues, which is a common theme worldwide. In this context, our core business, the "BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA" project, will lead the entire group and play a role in promoting sustainable initiatives. We have named the sustainable initiatives of the "BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA" project as "SHIBAURA SUSTAINABLE ACTION" and are implementing specific initiatives.
In order to further promote efforts to realize a sustainable society, the Nomura Real Estate Group has formulated “Earth Pride,” a sustainability policy based on the three themes of “Humanity,” “Harmony with Nature,” and “Creating the Future Together” as its aspirations for the year 2050.In addition, as five priority issues to be addressed by 2030, we have identified (1) diversity and inclusion (2) human rights to respect people's dignity and basic human rights and promote “co-creation” initiatives that transcend organizational and business categories, and (3) decarbonization (4) biodiversity (5) sustainability to contribute to solving climate change issues, which are common themes worldwide.

In this context, our core business, the “BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA” project, will lead the entire group and play a role in promoting sustainable initiatives. We have named the sustainable initiatives of the “BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA” project as “SHIBAURA SUSTAINABLE ACTION” and are implementing specific initiatives.
There are three reasons for promoting sustainable initiatives in the “BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA” project.
The first is that it is a large-scale mixed-use development with a total floor area of approximately 550,000 square meters, covering an area of approximately 4.7 hectares, and is a mixed-use project that includes offices, retail, a hotel, and residences. This project has the potential to demonstrate the cutting-edge sustainable activities required for each of the various assets, and to expand these activities to other Group projects.
Second, because of the large scale of the project and the fact that the Group will be relocating its headquarters, it is possible to make medium- to long-term investments and continue activities from a long-term perspective, involving a variety of stakeholders and making improvements.
Finally, “TOKYO x NATEURE (natural environment)” is the strength of this area, and protecting and utilizing the rich natural environment (greenery, sea, and sky) is the consensus of the local community, including the government, town councils, private companies, and schools, and will be an initiative that will benefit all stakeholders.

BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA SUSTAINABLE ACTION exemplifies how real estate can lead transformative change by designing infrastructure that turns public waste into public value. Through strategic planning and innovative systems, the project demonstrates how urban development can tackle mass waste challenges, transforming them into resources that benefit both people and nature. By integrating sustainable practices into its infrastructure and fostering collaboration across stakeholders, the initiative scales its impact far beyond a single building, setting a model for urban areas worldwide. With a vision to create a zero-waste city, BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA showcases the power of real estate to lead in shaping resilient, circular communities.
