Lingchih is the Co-founder of Artilect, which created the first FabLab in France in 2009, and the Co-founder of FabCafe Toulouse. The core value of Artilect is to democratize digital fabrication, empowering people to turn their ideas into reality. From 2015 to 2017 and again in 2019, Artilect organized a 4-day European-scale festival, the FabLab Festival. In summer 2018, Artilect hosted the 14th edition of FabLab International Conference, Fab14, and is a member of the Fab City Project. In 2015, Artilect joined the FabCafe global network which was a merveilleux step to achieve higher dynamism and creativity. Now, Artilect and FabCafe Toulouse are working on the 15 Global Challenges and are looking for new ideas that can improve the problems of today and create a better future.

The Power of Sun Prize
Solar power is a sustainable form of energy, but its use is not widespread due to the price of its appliance, the solar panel. This fair, circular solar panel is modulable, reusable, and has an extended product life. These characteristics might appeal to a broader public and encourage people to try to use it instead of current unsustainable power sources. I am looking forward to seeing the regions that have no sufficient power supply, but possess abundant sunlight, using it to solve their energy challenges.
Decay Into Magic Prize
Each European citizen produces approximately 500 kg of waste per year. Some methods that we invented in the past, such as landfill or incineration, might be a quick, short-term solution for waste disposal, but eventually end up causing all sorts of environmental pollution. The Fossilizator proposes a new solution to turn non-recyclable waste into construction materials. It not only reduces the volume of non-recyclable waste and can be a substitute material for construction, but also reduces the amount of resources and energy needed for the production of concrete and cement.
Quelle Pomme (Bonne) Idée Prize
Apple is a worldwide plant fruit, and Leap adds even more value to it. Leap presents not only a new product and decreases the waste resulting from the manufacturing process, but also helps create more job opportunities. We love fashion, but it shouldn't be based on the sacrifice of other creatures. When we have an alternative choice, why don't we choose the one that is more friendly to our environment and our animal friends?
Regenerated Prize
If we cannot eliminate the need to manufacture certain everyday objects, the least we can do is to make them in a green way. It is a brilliant idea to use sunlight and recycled water during the production process, and to give agricultural waste a new life/function. This technique can be introduced into many different countries which share similar challenges. I am also impressed to learn that the concept can be applied to different fields as well, such as that of eletronic components for example.
Tree Friendly Prize
Recycling Service for Reusable Packaging Materials Aims to Reduce as Much Waste as Possible from Deliveries
~Connecting Delivery" with stible~.
88Base inc.
Each day, we cut down an enormous number of trees to produce packages we throw away after a single use. If the companies that rely on the daily delivery or shipping of products can consider using this substitute solution to replace cardboard boxes, I am sure they will contribute to saving millions of trees every year.
